Why?
Well, it seems my WordPress install finally borked itself. I spent a few hours attempting to un-bork it, but the admin pages have persisted as "blank" despite my best efforts.
But here's the thing. I'm a coder, so how hard can whipping up a site really be? It's actually fairly trivial. I even copied most of the theme elements from my old blog that I wanted to keep. But it is in no way fully featured, as there's a total lack of things like an editor. But who needs an editor when you have ssh and Vi and ssh?
Of course there are issues with this whole endevor.
- It took time. Quite a bit of my weekend was spend setting this all up.
- It's not robust. Being a bunch of hand-coded JS, it's likely to have some subtle bugs I won't know about.
- It's possibly not secure. The problem with making anything public on the web is security. There's plenty of ways to mess up your security model and have a vulnerability.
